THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO LOOK ME UP.My name is Steve Deeks, I am a ‘Live’ Show Presenter, Race Driver, Superlicence Race Instructor, Automotive Trainer, Keynote Speaker, Broadcaster, Author and Event Co-ordinator.
I created, and present, my own cutting-edge communication and media skills training workshop, ‘Present to Win’, coaching everybody through CEO’s to Championship athletes in the art and technicalities of public speaking, media and delivering impactful presentations. Present to Win is used by major International Corporations to empower their key staff – and by championship racers on the professional circuit.
Throughout 2018 I have continued my winning ways on both the National and International stage. Celebrating fully twenty-five years at the forefront of the global events industry, 2017 HAD been my most exciting year to date, but 2018, elevated the programme to a different level - and spotlighted my return to the racetrack to boot. Throughout 2019 I am heading ‘offshore’ to present iconic new events and shows for key International clients. Afterburners on chaps…
In my role as a ‘Live’ Presenter, in 2018, I presented The British Formula One Grand Prix, The Goodwood Revival and Member’s Meetings, The Silverstone Classic, The BMW National Festival together with the European launches of a brace of exciting new cars - Jaguar i-Pace, Lexus UX, plus the all-new Ford Focus. I headed to Rwanda to present the launch of karting with Jean Todt and the FIA. High octane stuff.
Previous years highlights included presenting the Barbados Festival of Speed with Jenson Button, Silverstone’s World Endurance Championship, Goodwood’s Festival of Speed, The iconic Le Mans 24 Hour. Personal favourites included delivering a major keynote for 'The Home Retail Group’, anchoring ‘An Evening with, (BTCC Champion), Matt Neal’, the launch of ‘GT Sport’ at the ‘Copperbox’, ‘Automechanika’ at the NEC, Boxberg Germany for the launch of the 2017 Nissan GTR, back to Silverstone for the track debut of Yamaha’s iconic new R1M Superbike, London, ‘anchoring' The Black Book Motorsport Forum - and the season finale - 800 feet up in the Shard delivering Porsche UK’s ‘Future Insight’. When not presenting, in 2017, I was engaged developing a defensive driving programme for the Caribbean’s leading insurance company, in a relentless quest to reduce the region’s spiralling road accident statistics. In 2018, again between shows, I worked on honing the authoring side of my business, creating four bespoke training programmes that we delivered in Budapest to the Ford EDM markets – and concentrated on taking my own ‘Present to Win’ programme to a completely new level of engagement.
My ‘Present to Win’ graduates continue to excel on the World stage – and I even found time to add an R66 turbine helicopter rating to my multi-type helicopter ‘ticket’ and ‘fixed-wing’ pilot’s license. Freedom. As ever, competition is what drives me – I returned to the single-seater cockpit in November for an ‘invitation race’ in a classic Formula Ford at the Walter Hayes Formula Ford Festival– fully 29 years after I last stepped out of the same. I ran fifth in the Classic Final before engine issues intervened. Thrilling week for me, and a great honour to be invited.
My main focus has been gearing up to race a Classic Porsche 911SC in the HSCC championship. The 40-year-old GT has been painstakingly prepared for my return to fulltime racing by ‘VikingWorkx’ of Belgium. Bicester Heritage-based ‘Classic Performance Engineering’ will run the car, and the whole televised adventure is being documented on a discrete You Tube channel, and blogged exhaustively. We have an excellent group of partners involved with the programme, and I will test with championship-winning kart team ‘ProTrain’ to keep my reactions sharp.
What really excites me, is that, to paraphrase my great musical hero Joe Strummer, 'the future is unwritten’. It really is. Get in touch, get on board, join the race team partners - most of all, TELL ME what I can do to add power to your business or racing plans going forward. Events, shows, racing, coaching, training, authoring – I’m all about empowerment. Passion. And quality.
Steve Deeks, 2019.
